Well...our baby...or should I say started Kindergarten this morning. He was soooo excited about going back to school and seeing some of his friends from preschool. When he got home and we asked him about his day he told us, "I had recess two times..and it was fun." That is how school should be, right?

Easter Day

What a fun day the kids had today....between waking up to a visit from the Easter bunny, to church with friends, and then time with Grandpa & Grandma and an indoor Easter hunt at their house. They were exhausted but energized at the same time...luckily the drive home gave them time to relax.

This is the first year that we have let the kids color eggs and it was a blast. Between fighting over colors, spilling the colors and not wanting to wait for the colors to finish the kids loved every minute of it. :-)

We took a beautiful drive up to Daffodil Hill today with the kids. There was a break in the weather and we had a wonderful sunny day that allowed us to run around in short sleeves and no jackets. The kids had a lot of fun running around and just enjoying themselves and we enjoyed watching them!

We took today and went to Redding to visit with Great Grandpa, Aunt Phyllis, Uncle Rick, Grandpa, Grandma and the chickens. It was a beautiful day and we really enjoyed ourselves. The boys loved running around in the backyard, feeding the chickens doritos and just being boys, ie. getting dirty! Great Grandpa enjoyed spending some time with his great grandkids as well!

Our baby girl is growing very quickly and you can see just a taste of her personality in this picture. She is very inquisitive and sooo wants to keep up with her brothers, this includes climbing the stairs when mommy isn't watching! She has 6 of her teeth in and she has been working on another 2 for awhile now...they are just being as stubborn as she is.... :-)

What a special day this is....not only are we ending a tremendous year of ups and downs here in the Judd household but we are celebrating John's Birthday. It has been such a wonderful year with Bella joining our household and John finishing up his 2 last surgeries on his feet (we are praying to be done). Zach started preschool and Ethan has grown into such a wonderful little boy who loves to share his opinions with us. God us truly blessed us!!

Snow Day

Today is John's birthday and he decided that we needed to take a quick day trip up to the snow. So off we went up Highway 80 towards Reno in search of snow. It took us about 1 hr and we found snow at an area in Nyack...and lots of other people seemed to have found the same location judging by the number of cars when we pulled off the highway. It was a great time and the kids had a blast building a snowman with daddy and also throwing snow at him....

Christmas Day at the Judd house

The boys woke up late this morning..we actually got to sleep until 7:45, that is unheard of in this house, but we are very thankful for the extras sleep since Santa and Mrs. Claus were up late assembling gifts. Zach received a new bike with training wheels for Christmas this year. Ethan received a storage bin set for all the new toys he was expecting (yes, he is the 2nd boy in the house, but will be receiving Zach's old tricycle in exchange). Bella, well she is so young that Santa didn't really feel the need to bring anything big for her this year, but who knows what next year may bring.

We have a wonderful new addition to our family this year. Thomas, my brother, married Cassandra on Dec. 8th. It was a surprise to all of us, but she is a wonderful addition and blessing to our family. We are looking forward to the big wedding in August.

It is so hard to believe that our little boy isn't so little any longer. He turned the mighty 2 today and we had such a great time celebrating our little man! We enjoyed a fun dinner at John's Incredible Pizza and then came home for cake and presents. He runs, talks up a storm (in between Zach talking) and is such a happy boy who loves to be hugged and loved on....Thank you Lord for our precious boy!

We celebrate Thanksgiving with my mothers extended side of the family each year. This year we were in Petaluma at 2nd Cousin Camilla's house. Zach had a fun Halloween party at Preschool that mommy was allowed to attend with him. They played pin the nose on the pumpkin, painted their pumpkins (from Bishops pumpkin farm) and ate lots and lots of food that the parents each provided. We had a fabulous time.

Zach, Ethan and Isabella went to Bishop's pumpkin farm this year as a field trip with the preschool. We had a great time...despite the drenching of rain that accompanied part of our trip. The kids rode the train, watched a pig race, rode on a hay wagon out to the pumpkin fields where they each picked a pumpkin to bring home. We rounded out the day with apple cider, fishy crackers and jumping on the hay pillow. It was a fabulous day!!!

We went to cousin Trenton's birthday party on Sunday in Vallejo with Grandpa & Grandma. They have a fun place called Children's Wonderland that I used to play in when I was very small. They remodeled it (of course, since that was a small number of years ago) and it was a great place for the kids to run around and know that they were safe.

Our first night we hit the town..ie. the boardwalk! It was .75 night at the boardwalk. So, we ate to our hearts content. (ie. 4 hot dogs, 2 drinks and 1 cotton candy) all for .75 each. The rides were even .75, so John took the boys on the carousel and Bella and I watched. It was a great night all for about $10.00. Not to bad for this bargain hunter

We went on vacation to Santa Cruz this year...we wanted to stay close, but also get away. It is hard to do a lot with 2 pack-n-plays and a baby who doesn't always sleep through the night. We found a great cabin in a KOA campground in Santa Cruz....even came with a jumping pillow and small train the kids could ride as much as they wanted. The cabin was furnished with a queen bed in one room and 2 bunk beds in the other room...we brought the sleeping bags so we still had that camping feeling. There was no heat or A/C. So we made sure to bundle up at night..... It was great fun. They boys especially like the DIRT!!

We had such a fun 4th this year...we went to the Fountains in Roseville and let the boys run through the spray and later that night we went to a fireworks show at the mall. The fireworks of course were really, really late so the boys didn't get to bed until close to midnight. Can you believe that Zach was still up at 6:30 the next morning. Crazy!!!

Disney's Christmas Carol Train

We went to see the Christmas Carol train that is traveling around the country on Saturday. It is an introduction in the making of the new Disney Christmas Carol that is coming out in November. It was really cool and the boys really enjoyed themselves. The lines were really long even at 9am (when they opened) but the boys handled things really well.

Isabella received her special blanket from Great-Aunt Karen today....I had to take a picture of her on it, even though she wasn't cooperating and smiling for the camera. :-) Aunt Karen (my mother's sister) has made quilts for each of our kids...and the other nephews. She has on record 15 (or so) boys quilts and has officially made her first "girl" quilt. My grandfather has 10 great-grandsons...and Isabella is the first great-granddaughter. Week 1

Isabella is officially 1 week old today...it is so hard to believe that a full week has passed with her beautiful baby girl. She is such a blessing to our family and has brought us such joy in her short life. We couldn't imagine life differently now... :-) She had her first dr.'s appt. yesterday and she is back up to 8 lbs 2 oz..it means that mama must be doing something right with her. :-)

New day

Things are going well here in the Judd household. Isabella is eating well...every 2 hours if not more. It is good for her...not for the sleepless mama. Thank goodness for a rocking chair that you can sleep in all night! She is such a good baby and the boys love her. Zach walked in this morning and wanted to know where baby sister was...in the bassinet. He went over looked at her and told her "Bella, I love you." It was the cutest thing!

John just left to take the boys for a few hours to the Train Museum downtown...so this is my quiet time. Just wanted to leave a quick note to let you all know we are doing great!

First day

Things went well for our little girl overnight..she actually slept from 11ish until 6 this morning when I needed to wake her to feed her. Can you tell this isn't my first child??? :-)
Since we let her sleep and didn't wake her every 2 hours to eat. She has been very good so far and the boys have visited with her twice and are quite taken with her... Baby sister bella is what Zach likes to say!! We will update more later..Daddy and baby girl are napping right now.

Thanks for the prayers and thoughts..labor and delivery went well and I am feeling pretty good right now. Very, very hungry!!! :-) Isabella has been awake for most of her short life and has been very interested in what has been going on. She has latched well and all her vitals are good. Apgar was 8-9. John is enjoying his new daughter and it is hard to tear her out of his arms. Luckily I am the food source so I am guaranteed some time with her. Much love and thanks...Heather...

Isabella Grace Judd

Isabella Grace Judd has arrived! Official birth time is 1:35. She weighs 8.5 pounds and is 20 inches long. Mother and baby are both doing fine. Everybody says we have a beautiful baby girl. I happen to agree.

What do you know. I was just about to take the lead and the game gets called on account of baby. I'm sure this surprises nobody. They are getting set up to start pushing, so the baby should be here before too long.

The student puts her at 9cm, and the nurse puts her at 9cm. It looks like we have a tie this time. Linda is on her way to the hospital. The game of hand and foot is getting closer, but Heather is still winning. I have a feeling, if I have a really good hand, Heather is going to start feeling the contractions more and the game will stand the way it is now.

The nurse has a student working with her, so Heather gets to play guinee pig. The student says 5cm dialated. The nurse says 6cm. We are going with what the nurse says, since it's the bigger number. Heather is winning hand and foot by much more now. I'm pretty sure she's cheating.

Contractions are getting stronger and closer together. Everything seems to be progressing well. The epidural is in. Heather is winning our game of hand and foot, but only because she got the count right.
